I'm pretty sure if you're not a Canadian citizen or resident, you're considered an IMG applicant.
You can still apply as an IMG, but you don't get any first round picks I believe. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 90% sure that unless you're a Canadian/Canadian resident, doesn't matter that you graduated from the US, you're still going to be an IMG 🙁

As long as you went to an ACGME accredited medical school (basically any in the US or Canada), you are eligible to enter into the first round match and not considered an IMG.
Yep, I'm really happy about this 🙂We are VERY fortunate we dont get placed in the "IMG" category with caribbean, australian etc
US MD and US DO medical graduates are considered Canadian Medical Graduates as far as residency applications goes.
US MD, yes.
US DO grads are only eligible to match (first round) to Ontario and BC. They may apply as IMGs to Alberta in the second round only, and in the remaining provinces are not eligible to apply at all.
