American Studying at a Canadian Medical School

Hello All,

I just wanted to ask if anyone happens to know what pool of applicants I will fall into if I apply for residencies here in Canada. I am an American Citizen at a Canadian Medical school.

CARMS is your best resource. http://www.carms.ca/eng/r1_eligibility_prov_e.shtml

For example, in Saskatchewan you could not apply at all because you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Ontario also appears to require you to be a Canadian citizen/resident. With Alberta, there's not enough information. So it's best to review this and then contact the provincial governing bodies directly for more detailed information.
