I know that there are many threads on this topic. Almost everyone has had very positive experiences with Americorps. I was just wondering what specific division people were a part of since the organization is very large. How competitive was it to get a spot in your specific division? What did you actually get to do every day 9-5?

I was a part of an AmeriCorps program that places members in federally qualified health centers in underserved areas. It was an amazing way to get hours of direct patient contact because I dealt with them everyday. I can't speak on how it affected my application, as I'm just starting the process, but if you'd like more info, feel free to message me.

I'll be working for the Community HealthCorps program in San Francisco this upcoming year. This cycle over 350 people applied for only 25 positions, so it was pretty competitive. If you're interested in working with underserved populations then I'd definitely recommend you to check out Community HealthCorps. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
