I'm a prospective applicant to an Asia Amgen Scholars Program this coming summer. However, as a junior majoring in Neuroscience, I have no research experience, as I have used my free time to volunteer and work part-time. For reference, I have a 3.87 GPA and have gotten A's in all of my STEM classes. How do I convey that I am passionate in research without having demonstrated it previously? Also, I am confident that I'll be able to get good LOR's from two of my professors, since I was at the top for their respective classes (Orgo I and Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience), and I was relatively close to them.

Have you ever done a literature review for a term paper? Written an interesting computer program that synthesizes across many data points? These aren’t necessarily traditional research experiences but could show your potential and interest.

Yeah, I've done both in my Neuro and CS classes. Thanks!
