No research experience at all

As a career changer, I have no research experience at all. I tried to secure a position last cycle but was unsuccessful. Instead, I have focused on clinical hours, non-clinical hours, volunteering etc. I have applied to schools that are not research heavy. How much will this hurt me. As a second cycle applicant, I have one interview coming up. Not too hopeful though.

Research isn’t make or break if you’re not applying to a researched focused school. I sort of think you answered this one yourself. You got an interview though!! You got this

This will come as a surprise to many pre-meds, but especially as a career Switcher you don't need research
