How much should we know about amino acids for DAT? Should we memorize which ones are aromatics, or contain sulfur, basic or acidic?

Its always good to be able to recognize them I think. Glycine, cysteine, the acidic ones, and the basic ones come up often; I don't think it hurts to remember some of their properties, but of course you would never have to draw them out.

know your acidic/basic amino acids. Also know that pka > ph means the amino acid in the (protonated )acidic form and ph > Pka means it is in the (deprotonated) basic form.

Yes,,,,I would know at least that. More importantly, would be for you to be able to draw what an amino acid looks like at a low pH , Physiologic pH, and a high pH. I have many such questions in DESTROYER. Good luck !!!

Hope this helps.
