For the DAT, should we memorize the structures? Or should we just be familiar with the different groups (polar, etc.)? Or are they not tested often at all?

Don't worry about the structures...but it wouldn't hurt to know which are acidic/basic or polar/nonpolar. I don't even know how often that comes up...but better safe than sorry!

Yes... I think the questions may ask.... if a serine (i think the structure will be provided) will be immiccible or miccible with what? something related to it...
 
Do not memorize structures. Structures are provided. Just realize what R groups make an amino acid polar.
