Hey so I was in AMSA (American Medical Student Association) as a pre-med...was wondering if I should include that in my DO applications as an EC even though it is more in the Allopathic aspect than Osteopathic...if not I have plenty of other ECs that are stronger.

AMSA is not exclusively allopathic. We have a chapter at DMU, as do most DO schools.

Of course you should include it; it is something you participated in.

I was in PhiDE, which is more MD-friendly overall, but I wouldn't have considered not including it. No one cares which slant the group takes; they care that you were able to participate in activities outside of your studies.

There is a chapter of AMSA at UNECOM as well. Put it on your application😀. Good luck!
