An Alternate at Western University

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've been put on the alternate list at Western University in Pomona. What are my chances of getting in? :scared:
I have no clue but its an awsome school. good luck to you!

Obviously, nobody can tell you your position on the waitlist. That said, when I got in, chances were pretty good that a waitlisted applicant would get in. Back then, admissions was pretty good about keeping the interview group small.

My advice is to never stop working. Look around on SDN - there are ways to keep improving your application. Granted, any improvement at this point won't be that big, but, it might be enough for the school to decide to take you over somebody else.

Also, even though I go to COMP, don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you have other interviews, go check out other schools with an open mind. You might like what you see. It's the reason why I'm at COMP. So far, I love it.

Good luck.

any updates on your alternate status? i was placed as an alternate back in january 2011 as well.

i was also wondering the same, if there has been any movement. i was put on the alternate list since interviewing in Feb. does western pull from the deferred acceptance list first and then proceed to take students off the alternate list? let's just hope for the best!🙂

i have no idea. i wonder if any alternates have been selected yet, and what the chances are? the waiting game is horrible, but definitely hoping for the best.

I have asked them multiple times whether the alternate list has moved, answer was no, no one has been pulled from the list yet!!

should we take that as a sign of good news or bad?

If you guys don't mind me asking.. what were your stats like when you applied? I'd really like to go to western in pomona...
