An EKG Project

Hi,
I'm not actually involved in any sort of medical practice or company, I am an undergraduate Computer Engineering student. I am currently working on my senior project and had the idea to build an EKG. The project difficulty is within the scope of the course, however there is some concern over originality in the engineering and design process.

The main question would be, What additional functionality would you like to see in EKG?

Thanks for any suggestions, I really appreciate any input i can get from someone outside of the computer engineering field on this matter.

wow...that's a big project you are taking on. i would highly recommend going to the nearest university hospital and asking an EP cardiologist for help.

I think this is a great idea. If you can contact me I will give a good idea. Infact I was thinking about this last week. It it works out this will be a great thing in the future. i'll be proposing "wireless leads" to avoid tangle... the difficulty will be signal interference and latency. I will try to find a local cardiologist to assist in tests assuming i get approval.

Unfortunately it was decided by others that this project was out of the scope of the course. So i will have to do another project for my year long senior project.
On the bright side a fellow student thought the idea was great and suggested the two of us do it together in our free time. I don't really have that much free time, but this seems worthwhile to me so it may happen after all.
