I was being sarcastic, but I can see this perhaps worrying interviewees. As an example, I bit my tongue pretty hard at my CCOM interview. I recognized that the way I would have pronounced it sounds like a the start of the large intestineHow is this essential?
I've been pronouncing everything "PEE-COM"

EVERY one of my faculty colleagues, and students, and myself, use the word "COM" (as in, Mr Sulu, you have the com").
People will sound out the letters before the "COM"...for example, K-COM, A-Z-COM, or T-COM, but we also say TUN-COM, or Nova-COM.
this makes sense. that's why i always believe DUCOM and AECOM are secretly DO schools
