There seems to be an "OTC Adderall" marketed under Addtabz here: http://store.gentech-pharmaceutical.com/addtabz-mental-focus-performance-60-pills/

Does anybody know if it actually works anything like Adderall? It says it's ingredients are recognized by the FDA, which really means that it is not FDA approved, however it might not have to be since it may be a dietary supplement. Is this legitimate or a gimmick?

This drugs looks legitimate. Active ingredients are similiar to caffiene, and cholinergic agnoists (stimulate cholinergic receptors, like nicotine but not addictive). Not sure what the research is behind this drug. You may want to look search around about it's pharma name, Ampheta. Hope this helps.

I don't think caffeine and cholinergic agonists will quite match up to the effects of amphetamines though.

Like many nutraceuticals....it is not evaluated by the FDA. It talks about ingredients that individually may have some support, but that doesn't mean it does what it is supposed to do or that it does it as well as a psychostimulant. I think it is most likely a gimmick, but that's just based on a 30 sec. cursory review of the info.

Yeah sounds like a gimmick. If there is an OTC med alternative for ADHD meds don't you think most doctors would be on board with this medication by now? Especially for kids. It's scary to think that someone might buy this thinking it would help them. But then again there's always the placebo effect! :scared:

"The entire PhenTabz product line formulation is NOT an herbal supplement but rather a designer non-prescription pharmaceutical analog providing superior results without the side effects of its chemical cousin's amphetamine/Phentermine."

You might be better making shake and bake Methamphetamine at home... You're telling me you want to ingest a compound you have no information on and no safety records on.

It could be safe, then again, it could lead to cardiac failure at age 40 for all you know or cause some other unforeseen problem.

At least with Methamphetamine you know what the side effects are (and how bad it is for you), with Methyhexaneamine (which is what is in these pills among other things) well you take your chances. I might add that this is banned for many sports, so if you compete at a high level, stay away.

This one is actually stronger and uses herbs, I prefer Addrena, but to each his own. OTC Adderall options are definitely smarter longterm than just taking synthetic stimulants in the longterm. In general taking any kind of stimulant though would be foolish as it would stress our adrenal glands big time. http://natural-wellness-methods.com
