Now, I'm not usually one to look for attention, although some people on this site might beg to differ. Anyways. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I would be proposing to my then girlfriend. Well, as of Friday, December 21, I am officially engaged. It is a good day for me and I just thought that I would tell everyone. Gloating? Maybe. But I am just really really happy!

Haha! Here's how it went down. I was PLANNING on surprising her with flowers on an airplane when she comes down to Texas next week, but she wouldn't allow it. Friday night, I stayed with her at her parents' house after my finals. While we were watching TV she insisted that I give her her Christmas present early. She was acting like a goober when I told her to sit in the chair instead of the floor, but she pouted and got upset. Finally, I convinced her that she should sit down in the chair. I said to her, "I love you. Do you love me?" To which she responded, "No, hahaha!" Laughing, I said, "Well. I hope that you change your mind because I was just wondering if you would marry me?" Five minutes later she is on the phone with every person she knows. Haha! It was pretty funny. I guess it wasn't as romantic as some would hope, especially because she has a nasty cold right now, but we loved it.

Thank you all for the congratulations! I just thought I'd share the love with my SDN fellows!

Did you propose to her on the scoreboard at a sporting event?

TT.. the Penn State vs. Texas A&M game is the SAME day that she flies into Austin (Dec. 29). Problem is, she won't get into Austin until 1.5 hours before game time. I thought about proposing there since I love PSU football and I hate hate hate hate x 10^99999 Texas A&M, but: (A) she would've been bored at the football game, and (B) she would've been pissed that I did it in such a public setting (national TV, lol).

If you make it down to the game for any reason, please hate on TX A&M a little harder for me.

I may end up going to the game, but I doubt it. But I've gone to the alamo bowl spur-of-the-moment before.

And nobody should ever propose at a sporting event. It is the most ******ed thing anyone could possibly do.
