TPR distinguishes between:
1) Analysis = depth-of-processing model; involves deeper processing (which I'm guessing means semantic rather than structural or phonological processing)
2) Rehearsal = dual-store model; involves keeping info in short-term memory to eventually push into LTM.
But rehearsal could be maintenance (rote memorization) or elaborative. Maintenance rehearsal might correspond to the lower level structural or phonological processing (i.e. lower level of analysis), but elaborative rehearsal involves not only a semantic processing but using higher-level intelligence to draw relationships between ideas, categorize/outline ideas, put ideas in concept maps or hierarchies, etc - hence, I'd think elaborative rehearsal > analysis > maintenance rehearsal in terms of likelihood of remembering. TPR, on the other hand, seems to emphasize: analysis > elaborative rehearsal > maintenance rehearsal
Which is true?
