Hey all.

so i've come across lots of great info on this forum about psychodynamic orientated programs and researchers doing work in psychoanalytical theory, but is anyone familiar with any programs or researchers that do work in analytical (jungian) psychology?

thanks!

I myself am not Jungian, however as I was searching through schools for PhD programs I came across Dr. Knudson at Miami of Ohio. As you will note he is more influenced by Hillman's archetypal psychology. Looks like he is into dreams and qualitative research. You might be able to email him and ask a few questions to find a better fit if he is not your cup of tea.

Here's his profile.

Dr. David Rosen is listed as their "McMillan Professor of Analytical Psychology."

You should find a lot of these types in Seminaries and Religion Departments.

Try Fuller Theological Seminary they have an APA accred program PhD and PsyD although it is not funded. Another school that comes to mind is Wheaton College in Illinois.

David Rosen in the post above is also a psychology of religion guy I believe. I am only aware of such things b/c I've was an RA with Dr. Ralph Hood for a time.

You might also try the various psychoanalytic institutes around the country if you are interested in getting training. These are usually small institutes for post-grad training in psychoanalysis or psychodynamic therapy.

My mentor in grad school was an LCSW who studied for about 6 years at the analytic institute and he was a brilliant therapist. I got to sit in on a class and it was fascinating. There were PsyD's, PhD's, LCSW's and MFT's in the classes so you don't need a certain degree to study there, although most institutes have an application process and require licensure in your state as well as some post-graduate experience.
