i took an anatomy class in undergrad a couple years ago and during our lab exams, our prof wasnt too harsh on spelling mistakes. If we werent waayyyy off the correct spelling he'd give us full credit. since a lot of the muscles veins and stuff have very complex names, i was wondering how do med school anatomy classes penalize for incorrect spelling?

thanks

At COMP...as long as it is recognizable....they give us credit...but after studying like crazy....you inadvetantly learn the correct spelling..such a side bonus...it helps out in SCRABBLE.....

Yosh-

I never thought of the perks for scrabble.. I hope it does help cuz my Aunt wh00ps my a$$ every holiday...

...I wonder if there is a trivial pursuit for med students.....?

Yeah. It's called "the boards."

Boomer, that made me smile ...

Our anatomy prof said when asked about spelling on the exams:

"Only if you spell bicep T-R-I-C-E-P"

As long as it's recognizable ... and they actually read the answers, and give you 1/2 or even full credit if it is an 'also' right answer.

Simul

not in my anatomy lab.. if it's spelled wrong it's not the right answer.. therefore no credit is given. Not good for the girl who wrote "Frenic Nerve".. 😉

Yosh- I could've sworn I heard Professor Younoszai (one of our anatomy profs) mention spelling counted. They haven't counted off for it yet?
