Hello,
If possible, can someone please clarify this for me?
Origin of ant. digastric muscle: is it anterior mandible (digastric fossa) or is it intermediate tendon like post. digastric.? I thought that it was intermediate tendon attached to hyoid bone, but I found different answers from different sources.
Thanks!

Origin is the fixed point of a muscle
Attachement is the acting point

Digastric muscle :

anterior belly : origin = digastric fossa in mandible (fixe), attachement = hyoid bone (which is raised when digastric contracts)

posterior belly : origin = digastric groove in mastoid process of temporal, attachement = hyoid bone

This rule is for every muscle. 👍

Hi ,
The anterior belly arises from a depression on the inner side of the lower border of the mandible, close to the symphysis, and passes downward and backward and it gets inserted in intermediate tendon(hyoid bone).........here it means muscle is attached to bone by a tendon........
i think like that correct me if im wrong.....
