I cant figure this question out, any help?

The maxillary 1st premolar is a non-molar tooth that most frequently exhibits 3 roots. Where would the 3rd root be located?

the Maxillary 1st premolar is the only premolar with 2 roots and in rare occasions 3 roots. If it were to have a 3rd root, it would be on the buccal side, mimicking the maxillary 1st molar roots. The furcation is near the apical 3rd of the root. As a rule of thumb, those rare anomalies sometimes mimic the tooth nearby.
