of course, I haven't seen the manual at other schools, so maybe I'm just needlessly complaining? My pet peeve is the lack of illustrations in our manual...it just tells you to cut this, reflect that, find this origin and that insertion point then move on. I have Netter's atlas and I'm spending the majority of my time just looking up each muscle my manual mentions, each origin point, attachment point, etc. and it's taking sooooooo much time. Is this the way everyone does anatomy?

My friend actually took a summer class in anatomy and said grant's dissector was pretty good and could be used as a replacement to the lab manual. any thoughts on this? thanks...I'm just already so behind...

We used Grant's and it was pretty handy (especially with references to most atlases). But, it was our assigned text. I don't know how easy/difficult it would be to use a different guide from what your instructors expect.

We were required to Clemente's dissector, which was horrible in my opinion. Our group had one person donate a Netter. We kept it at the end of the table. One person was responsible for finding the items that we needed to know in Netter, while the other 2 people dissected.

Grant's dissector was great, with pictures and references to major atlasses. Get a copy from the library and see if it is helfull. I got it on-line for $10. We also had Netter's at our table and borrowed other books from other tables.
