Anyone else find their digits are getting numb from anatomy dissections?

I've got long standing numbness in my thumb from blunt dissecting; at first I thought the gloves were to tight (no XL until recently), but that's not it. I've also tried all the different instrument manipulation techniques the different faculty members have "suggested" with no relief.

Do I just put up with this till spring break, hoping it doesn't become permanent, or does anyone have any suggestions?

TIA,

I have the same problem. The scissor grips are usually the worst offenders for me. It takes me about 2 days for the numbness to go away completely.

denali -

you could try doing what i did during dissection (and i was dissecting deep head & neck - not a lot of space for my big ol' hands)...

i bought a few rolls of grip tape (like for hockey sticks) and some prewrap (like for athletic ankles) and padded my dissection tools... prewrap first for cushioning, grip tape on top for friction... the grip tape is also good b/c you can use less force to hold the tools as they won't slip off the latex gloves as easily...

however, i could never figure out how to make this work for the smaller pickups and scissors - i leave that to you. =)

hope this helps.
