just for comparison's sake and out of curiosity, what are your anatomy notes or syllabi like and what do you think of them?
are they

a) just a vague outline and you have to get your information from elsewhere

b) completely sufficient, make it clear what you need to know and you use outside books, etc just for looking at pictures

c) something else

what do you think of the method your school uses and, if you don't mind writing it, what school do you attend?

for me it was mostly B...it just depended on the instructor. we got all our notes at the beginning of the semester and the instructors gave us objectives for each lecture which they could ask us exam questions from. some instructors provided a very clear and concise set of notes while others seemed to just jot out stuff in no logical order, making it very difficult to understand what was important for their lecture. in the end i found the notes to be sufficient along with netter's atlas. i bought moore's text but used it maybe 3 times. oh, i go to UofArizona.
