Hi All-

I am a graduate currently registered for a course entitled "Human Anatomy and Physiology I" with lab at a local university for the summer to help me finish my pre-requisites.

My question is: I already took a "Human Physiology" course while in undergrad....will the above mentioned course fulfill my Anatomy requirement for most schools? I figured it would but was not sure because it seems to be both Anatomy and Physiology and not just Anatomy.

Additionally...I am registered for Chem and Physics at a local community college. Would it make sense to register for Anatomy at the community college level as well, seeing as that it could save me 7-800 bucks? Or is it worth the money to take it at the University level?

Thanks a lot!

The reason I am asking is because I cannot find a local community college or University with a course that is just "Human Anatomy." They are all "Human Anatomy and Physiology"

This can vary by school, but I am going to say that this will probably not cut it. If you go the A&P route, they generally want two semesters of it, so you have the equivalent of one semester of each. In your case, you'd essentially have less than one full semester of anatomy. It would be best to check with your potential schools ASAP; I definitely wouldn't move forward thinking you have your bases covered until you've talked to the schools.

If you do end up needing anatomy and want to go the community college route, there is at least one that offers it online. The only catch is that it doesn't have a lab component, which is required by some schools. That's another thing to check with the schools. If you want the info though, PM me.

Thanks for the response. I think you are probably right in saying that I would need to take the full Anatomy and Physiology sequence.

That being said, I think it would be in my best interest to find a Human Anatomy class with a lab to take because that would require me to only take one semester to fulfill that requirement since I have already taken Human Physiology. I am going to have to finish up one or two more pre-reqs in the fall...so I'll probably do some hunting to see where I can take Anatomy.

I still have to take both Physics I and II, as well as Chem II, so I'm thinking it may be my best bet to take those this summer.

Thanks for the response!
