#1 is incisive canal. The pterygopalatine fossa is posterior to the nasal cavity and communicates with it via the sphenopalatine foramen. The incisive canal runs directly from the nasal fossa to the oral cavity.

I got this question on my part I exam this past thursday and i had eliminated my other options but was left between : 1) sphenopalatine foramen or 2) greater palatine

so was it sphenopalatine??:scared

ps. inicisive foramen was not an option:

no i dont think that sphenopaltine is right answer as SPHENOPALATINE CANAL communicate between nasal cavity and pterygopalatine fossa and

The greater palatine canal and pterygopalatine canal is a passage between the pterygopalatine fossa and the oral cavity.

this canal not communicate oral cavity with nasal cavity.

The incisive canal is sometimes called the nasopalatine canal, but I can't imagine you wouldn't have gotten the answer correct if that had been an option.
