How did you study high yield stuff for anatomy? I know it doesnt make up that many questions, so what sections of anatomy would make the best use of the anatomy study time?

I think Neuro would be the most important. And also cross sections at various levels(eg, patient with left hemidiaphragmatic paralysis, and you have to identify prenic n. among 15 holes on a cross section diagramm).

Qbank is making me think that nerve lesions of the upper and lower limbs are very important. Both motor and sensory. I usually see at least 1 of those in every 50 question block.

Just know what's in First aid for anatomy. I had 3-4 very specific questions on the brachial plexus on my test, but the answers to all of those questions were covered in first aid.

 

[Celiac Plexus]

First Aid anatomy is probably sufficient. On my exam I had a few CTs asking what certain structures were, or what innervated them, some questions about which upper extremity nerve/vasculature is at risk for various fractures, some "palsy" type questions, some neuroanatomy type questions, and a few spinal anatomy questions.

Overall, the anatomy was the simplest portion of my test.

My bad. Whenever someone says "neuroanatomy" I think of brain stuff. I tend to think of peripheral lesions as part of gross anatomy.

If Anatomy is my weakest subject and there are only a few weeks left until the exam, would you concentrate on Anatomy or would you focus more on the strong areas, like Pathology and Pharmacology and make them even stronger?

If I was getting a 39% on something, I'd focus on that. There's lots of room for improvement there.

If Qbank is any indication, the First Aid anatomy section is not sufficient at all - maybe 1 out of 2 questions in Qbank aren't answerable with 1st Aid knowledge alone. I'd like to believe ckent that it'll be all brachial plexus questions, and other 1st Aid topics. But Qbank seems to be asking about intrinsic muscles of the hand and foot, and their attachment points, for example. This would open up a whole new batch of info to review, and it's hard to tell where to draw the line.

I'd reccommend Hi-yield anatomy and hi-yield histology if you've got 2 weeks left...they're short (less than 200 pages) and have many X-rays, MRIs, and for histo EM's...

They also cover clinical stuff, so it's kind of a brief review for other stuff as well....
