WELLLLLL i just got back from that very very dark corner called the testing center and am SUPER exhausted!!! ...
didn't do that great : 18 AA and 17 PA (WHATTT?! 😱)

BUT , i have a strong faith in my GPA and my other qualifications..
I tried to study earlier this year (Ochem1) and everything evaporated of course. I also couldn't find time to study because am in a clinical laboratory science program (requires time +effort ) and as I mentioned before, my cousin passed away back in May and it really really affected me in a negative way..

I studied for 10 days (about 7 hours) and I wanted to tell everyone that it is doable without months of studying and book eating .. and Please ( spare me the stupid breakdown/never was a fan of that cause it always made me nervous)😕

THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT COMFORTED ME AND THANK YOU SDN YOU ARE THE BEST 👍...WISH YOU ALL THE BEST OF LUCK :luck:

10 days?! omg wth thats amazzzingggg. haha such a short time of studying!!
i think 18 is defly a decently good score. only if your gpa is average/above average/high. oh i see u have a 4.0science.....crazyyyyyy. they might wonder why your AA is only an 18 then, i dunnno
what were your indvidual science scores?
goodjob! 👍👍

just imagine what you would get if you studied longer.
with that gpa, i think you are fine. if later on you need to retake, at least you know you have what it takes to score well.
good luck in the cycle👍

In all honesty that is a decent score. I strongly believe you will land a few interviews and hopefully some acceptances. Good work and good luck!

PS I wish there was a seperate score you get that correlates the amount of time you spent studying with the scores you receive, you would get a 30 there lol.

What????!!!!!! YOU DIDN'T GET A 24+ SCORE LIKE EVERY PERSON DOES ON HERE?! Shame on you!

I don't consider 18 a 'bad' score and your GPA would definitely back your DAT up. I'm sure you'll get interviews. Good Luck.

Wow, 10 days!
Great accomplishment!!

Sorry to hear it didnt go as great as you would have hoped.. but those are still good scores!
G'luck 👍:xf:😀

Ouch. That is not a very good score.

Better luck next time.

Isn't 17 and under an automatic cutoff for some schools?

People here get carried away. 18 is the national average, it isn't a terrible score. It is a red flag if it is accompanied by a weak GPA, but that isn't the case here. Under 17 is a cutoff for some schools, so if he scored lower than that on some sections that may be an issue. His GPA is very good, so I think he's still good to get some interviews. It's just a shame the DAT will hold him back from as many interviews/acceptances as he should get.

There are a lot of schools that don't value the PAT very highly, so it may be worth your time to target some of those schools.

Hey guys …just to clarify am a she not a he

Ok so regarding my DAT score, I won’t be able to repeat it this year sooo….tough luck if I don’t get in. Yes, I will be disappointed, but will not kill myself over it. I also have to finish up my clinical laboratory board examination before I even think of retaking the dat.

Second, beside my GPA, my life experiences matter and am proud that I survived difficult circumstances since I migrated to the states 6 years ago (am originally from north Africa). TRUST ME, anyone who experiences life in the real world will be happy with the luxuries life has to offer and I am currently satisfied.

Thanks everyone,its time for fam

Good Luck

I guess when all else is lost, one can always hope to be redeemed by "affirmative action" as Orwell's Animal Farm has come to life in the form of the implementation of the social doctrine that "some are more equal than others" when it comes to the measurement of merit.

We all know whites and asians, especially males need to score higher to get in. So I guess an 18 really is pretty good if you are a female of African origin.

Hope in this regard will not redeem the majority of those applying for admission to dental school from the effects of poor/ average/ marginal performance.😉

All things considered, you'd probably get in with a 2.0 GPA and a 15 on the DAT. Excellent work, that is, relatively speaking!

The rest of us? We are stuck with the curse of being male whites and asians in a world striving for the goal of appeasing the lowest common denominator. Not much reason to hope in this regard for us.

are you trying to say that all boils down to being an African female?! 🙄
i did not find my grades at the side of the road you know.
It was never easy for me to attend college let alone have the courage to apply to dental school.
just wanted to let you know that there are life challenges bigger than school where I come from. you may think that you are stuck in a curse but a true curse is far from what you think.

I don't know if I will ever get in, all i said was that I have a strong faith. Everyone who worked hard deserve a chance to achieve their dreams and I sure did 🙂

PLUS this whole thing is too expensive!!!😱

It hurts so bad to see people with your mentality want to be future dentists.

I am sure you will land an interview and possibly a few offers 🙂 With your GPA you should be fine but if you have any sections that are less than a 17 check the schools to make sure they don't have cut offs (just so you don't spend more money than needed).

Yeah, its not like dentists as doctors are into being in tune with a mastery of the science of empirical facts, sans all the overly-emotional, pavlonian inspired idiotic social rhetoric BS which passes itself off as wisdom these days.

Emotional rhetoric really should guide science and doctors have a duty to give precedence to the supremacy of the "logic" (tyranny, really) of the equality fallacy. Feeling all warm and fuzzy inside is always more important than being in tune with the truth...

There is no equality quite like the tyranny of enforcing the mantra that the most superior is the one which aspires to advance the merits of the lowest common denominator.:meanie:

The fact is that this particular "immutable" "qualification" of yours will help a lot. And those of the majority taking the DAT and applying will be hurting them big time. (of course, the status quo conditions everyone living under the tyranny of this contemporary reign of thought control to submit to the very pavlonian induced response of acting and thinking as if this isn't so...) Why not aspire to be more honest and transparent than the average village idiot (white, black, asian, hispanic whatever...) is these days?

i did not find my grades at the side of the road you know.

Good luck to you!👍...though in reality, truth be told, you will need a lot less luck than the typical white and/or asian male.

Don't you need a license for being that big of a nerd?! I think you've mistaken me for someone who gives a damn. If discouraging people gives you pleasure, then I'm so sorry for ruining your game.

But seriously, do you always talk like that?! lol I'm thinking about throwing a charity event for the homeless and I'm sure everyone will appreciate a ******. I might even pay you for it. And I'll make sure you will love what you'll get sweetcheeks.

I think I may have stirred up some typically female sensitivities which invariably result in an estrogen-induced effort to keep everything at the patty-cake level.

Not sure exactly what you mean when you say, "I'm thinking about throwing a charity event for the homeless and I'm sure everyone will appreciate a ******. I might even pay you for it. And I'll make sure you will love what you'll get sweetcheeks."

Still, quite a snarky little thing you are.🙂 And that is not a bad thing at all. Spunk is good. Vapid is bad. Spunk + wisdom = the ideal. Vapid + braindead = all too common these days as evidenced by the average conversation overheard on the street and/or internet.

And, yes I am perhaps one of the top 10 biggest nerds in all of nerddom. I do have a license I carry in my wallet, actually. Of sorts. Really. Mensa style.

But then again, I guess this might have already been known had I just admitted, up front, that I think James Watson is the epitomy of cool and Lady Gaga is anything but, right up front.

I have to agree with you on Lady Gaga. But seriously man, you're so awkward. lol It doesn't hurt to learn some socializing skills. Nerds like you who probably spend 15 hours a day in a lab without saying a word to anyone piss me off 🙂

Thank you. I'll take the title of awkward as a compliment. An insult by way of the idiocracy is in truth (as the average village idiot is accustomed to speaking in non-truths) a supreme compliment.

Regarding your anger management, will it help you to calm down to know what ails you has a name?

hint #1: starts with j, composed of 8 letters, ends in y.

hint #2: sure must be "lousy" to be feeling that way.

By the way. Nothing better than 15 hours a day spent thinking. Nothing beats it. And yes, all the inane talk about senseless subjects such as the latest sports controversy, pop diva drama, and nonsensical pursuit of all things politically correct definitely is worth tuning out.

Best,

BF

I'll take the claim of awkwardness as a compliment, given that generally someone coming from your perspective is reflective of the totally upside backwards priorities valued by the average inhabitant of the idiocracy.

Best,

BF

Whatever makes you sleep at night kid.

please stay on topic and refrain from personal attacks.

I understand, but it's difficult not saying anything to people who enjoy putting others down by discouraging them and bombarding them with negative thoughts. I'll stop though.

BF-

Leave it alone.

To the OP, good job and I wish you the best of luck. I am sure you will be fine.

To BF- why? for a second, stop and think...why this far?

If you find your comments you left on this page alone as a testament to your intelligence...I'm far from impressed. Using the same 5 terms over and over again to sound intelligent is making you seem far from it, and your sentences lack any fluidity. Hence, an overall grammatical mess to any average, socially interactive person. I would love to see your patient interaction skills in person; however, a computer is far easier to hide behind with a dictionary at one's side.

Enjoy 👍

You only studied for 7 hours for the DAT?! 😱

Kudos to you, man. That's nuts. 👍

I'm sure she meant 7 hours a day (for 10 days) lol. But I still think what she did was impressive.

Oh, good call. I think I'm getting too much sun... brain cells fried. 🙄

Time to get back to studying. 9 day countdown to the DAT! woo!
