Took my DAT on Monday and decided to post my results.

AA:19
PAT:17
QR:17
RC:25
Bio:17
OC:17
GC:17

So, I don't really know what this means. I was honestly shocked when I got the scores, as I thought I did much worse. I didn't study, but had finished Ochem right before taking the test, which I felt helped a ton.

I have a 3.6 right now, shadowing, etc. Any insight on my chances this cycle?

You didn't study?! No. You are not getting in... Don't waste your money. Honestly if you didn't even bother to study just go be a nurse.

You have a chance...but considering you haven't studied for it....you would get at least a 20+ in every section if you studied for like 2 months diligently. Give it a shot, but if you don't get in I would recommend using some of the study tools posted on the forums.

i'm no expert but i really don't think there is a chance here.

you said you didn't study? why not? i'm sure that if you put in the time and effort you will definitely get 20+s. without studying and you got 17s thats pretty impressive. put some more work in and you will do even better. great RC score!

You paid $385 to take the DAT without studying. Was this a new strategy to defeat the DAT by taking the actual DAT instead of CDP, ACHIEVER & QVAULT?? Just messing I love your RC score.

Too bad you don't get in with just a good reading score. I would be offended if you got in, I really would. I worked hard all summer and you just took it!? Lol well it showed. Did you also just take the mcat?

Well, it's funny. I bought DAT destroyer, the AP books, etc. I took OChem this summer and was so caught up in that and was burning out so hard, I couldn't pull myself to do it. I was planning on taking a year off, but figured this score might be enough to get me in.

No but nursing school doesn't require a standardized test. Sorry didn't mean to offend nurses! I love you guys! Maybe garbage man would be more fitting? I don't I feel like even that takes some work and planning.

I'm not bragging about my scores and lack of studying. I was asking for input based on the circumstances and results of the test.

It annoys me that you feel so entitled because you studied oh so hard. One thing you will learn really quickly upon getting into dental school is that 1) people are better test takes and 2)sometimes paying more attention during the course will save you study time before a big test.

What's with the hostility? The kid is just trying to get some suggestions...isn't that what the forum is for? What's the point of being sarcastic and condescending ...not like it will help him in any way. I think he has an OK chance of getting into a few schools, but if he works harder and takes the DAT again he can probably do better.

I think if you bumped all your scores by +1 point, and considering that you are good at reading. Should have read a biology book or something, that way you can score above a 20 in biology and reading.

If you got a 17 without lifting a finger you're obviously pretty sharp, but you just wasted $385, and you have to wait another 3 months to take the exam when it might not be so convenient for you. Put at least a month into studying you should hit a 20+

Chances are very low. Your best option would probably be to hold off until you can retake, prepare well for it, and apply in the next cycle.

some people are natural at getting decent scores without studying (my husband is a perfect example). Also I don't think people should start hating on someone just because they didn't study for the test and we spend all summer studying. Everyone is different !

To the OP, you need to get +1 point at least and im sure with a few weeks of studying you can do it. You seem very bright since you didn't study and got those scores above. Good luck!

We are all here to get information and help. I don't think you should be so arrogant and sarcastic towards OP just because you studied for so long. I spent my entire summer studying as well so what?

I too used to get upset that people could get away with doing better in classes without studying as much as me. After a while, it turns out, it is who I am. Wish it wasn't so, but oh well. There isn't need to get crazy over it. Who cares. The OP admitted not studying, and their score shows it. You studied and your scores also show it because you did better.

And yes, you two are BOTH classless :laugh:

Why would you be "offended" if the OP got in? No one says that you have to study for the DAT. Granted, your score will most likely reflect the time that you spend preparing, but if you can get away with minimal studying and still do well, more power to you. That being said, OP scored "well" for not putting much time in. Buckle down with some proven study material and retake it in a few months.. You'll do well 👍

So can I retake and the score still show up this cycle? Like will the school get notified with an updated test score?

Well, you do have to wait 3 months so I assume you will be taking the test again around the deadlines of several schools. Not to mention the time it takes for AADSAS to receive your score. Just carefully look into that. Hope you'll do well, good luck !

Did pretty good for not studying. And Reading Comp is ridiculous.What was your method? I assume you just read it and S&D afterwards.

I didn't really have a method... The passage is right under the question so you can just scan for keywords.

This is probably the most difficult section for people that get full of nerves for tests.
