Can anyone recommend a good Anesthesia book that is well written and organized, and covers the basics without going into too much detail for an Anesthesiology elective rotation.

Basics of Anesthesia by Stoelting and Miller is probably best for medical student elective study. It is pricey new (~$75?). I would see if you could borrow it. But if you plan a residency in the specialty, I would purchase it. Another would be Anesthesia Secrets by James Duke. Not quite as expensive (~$40 new). Hope this helps.
