Hey everyone,
I am interested in a career in anesthesia. I was wondering if anyone could help me gain some exposure with anesthesia. I currently go to school in Boston (around the Longwood Medical Area). It would be greatly appreciated if I could shadow someone to gain a better understanding of career in the field. Please let me know if someone is interested in allowing me this opportunity.

Thanks

If you're in med school, just contact the anesthesiology department (or one of them, if your school isn't part of a larger medical campus) to set up a shadowing date. My school was very receptive to that, and I can pretty much hang with a resident in anesthesiology whenever.

It may be more difficult if you're not already in med school. But, it never hurts to ask. Your best bet would be to contact a hospital or group that is involved in teaching, so they're used to having med students (and perhaps others) rotate through etc.

Thank you for the information.
