I need to come up with topic that I can discuss for 10 to 15 minutes or more for my anesthesiology rotation. I would like for it to be about something that would be useful for an IM resident or intern to know in depth. Does anyone have any ideas?

What about procedural sedation used in the IM subspecialties? Colonoscopies, elective cardioversion, etc.

Pain Management. Dosing equivalents, transitioning from IV to PO etc.

agree with procedural sedation, however, i doubt IM is allowed to do even conscious sedation without anesthesia backup.

rapid sequence intubation with the drugs used and why (ie, midazolam, ok for normotensive, etomidate, ok for hypotensive)... good to know when people are crashing
