What is the best book for an anesthesiology rotation?

The answer depends on what you?re looking for. For depth use the Miller text from the library. The next text that is less complete, but one of the best in its class is Morgan and Mikhail "Anesthesiology." One of the best handbooks is "Clinical Anesthesia Procedures of the Massachusetts General Hospital." The handbook provides basic pathophysiology, pharmacology, procedural issues, and some case specific issues. What book you read is determined by how much you read. I used the handbook for general information and went to Miller if I wanted to get in-depth. As you have probably heard, unless you are serious about a field borrow a book or take it out of the library, don?t buy it.
