Ok,

So I've been struggling with angle ranking and was looking for some advice. I have CDP can keep getting less that 10/15. 🙁

I've tried the hill technique but for some reason it doesn't work for me. It's hard when all the angles are facing different ways and I just can't twist my head that way! haha

What are your strategies?

Thanks!

Pray.

I'm not joking either. this is my experience but both times taking the test I got stiffed with ridiculously hard angle ranking questions.

the differences was 2 degrees. I would always come down to two choices with order of two changed. I got maybe out of 15, 3 or so gimmes.

my advice is understand them but you will see better gains mastering the other sections. Like get 15/15 on hole punching and cube counting.

Angle ranking is hit or miss. set at 2 degree differences, you can give me same set of angles and i'll give you different answers almost every time.

what i do is first look at the answer choices and see which choices they give as the smallest and try to pick one, thenm i look at the remaining answer choices and see which is the largest and try to deduce it further, finally if needed i look at the 2 middle numbers and deduce those choices. hopefully at makes sense.

some technique methods can include the laptop method, where you try to figure out which is easiest to close, personally i try to mentally widen or close the figure into a perfect 90 degree angle and see which takes longer to do, and i get my answer that way, but that is just my method, and probably makes no sense in words

Plastic Surgeon, it actually did make sense. I've tried the laptop method and it works sometimes, but I've just got to find something that works better because I still keep missing. I might try the 90 degree angle thing because That would work with acute angles too, so hopefully it'll help my score! haha.

Thanks

OH where do I begin with this angle ranking.... I am so mad as well... this should be the easiest section looking at it first glance, but really I am in the same boat as you... I keep missing them and tried everything I can... 🙁

If there truly existed a sure way to conquer angles, then it would've been written about on SDN and we all would know. The reality is there never will be a sure way as most people hover around 8-10 on angles.

So the best approach is to be strong in everything else which will compensate for angle deficiencies. At the end of the day, you will still be guessing on angles regardless of how many different strategies you employ.
