I'm sorry if this has been asked numerous times, but does anyone have any personal experiences with using one of these two programs to study for the MCAT. I know Anki has the spaced algorithm feature, but it doesn't seem very user friendly. Would you suggest I learn how to use Anki or stick with Quizlet. Keep in mind I will probably have well over 1000 cards to study.

If you can get used to the interface then anki. and 1000 cards isnt much so don't get worried. People taking step 1 make like 5-8k cards i've read

Thanks for the reply! I was just guestimating on that number. I will have enough cards to cover the entire content of the MCAT, so probably more.

Okay, and seriously anki is better. Quizlet is good but the algorithm for anki is top notch

Anki is much better for long term retention which is what you'll need when studying over the course of about 3 months. In addition, going through 1000 flashcards on quizlet would take you a whole day at least, but with anki you can do flashcards 30min per day which is much more reasonable

anki, every time. I only discovered it 3 weeks before my MCAT. Really wish I'd had it the whole time.

I used quizlet and liked it! Was used to it since I used it for all my undergrad classes. Only used it for P/S though. Honestly, I retained so much more when I physically wrote out cards/re-wrote my notes a couple of times. Makes dramatic improvements in your retention!

what should we use for regular classes involving memorization; which one is more fun to use in your opinion?

Anki without a doubt. Once you get used to the interface it's pretty easy. Even if you find preset decks on Quizlet and other sites, you can always export those to Anki

I'd say Anki, but give yourself time to get used to how it works. 1000 cards will be no problem, I usually make 1000+ cards in two weeks and it's not super time consuming.

I used quizlet all through undergrad, used anki for mcat. Much prefer anki
