Paid summer internships offered through Maine's Daniel Hanley Center for Health Leadership's Undergraduate Healthcare Leadership Internship (UHLI) Program.
The Hanley Center's mission is to develop Maine's healthcare workforce and UHLI offers internships across the state in a variety of partner settings. I have been working with the Hanley Center since the UHLI was created and have had a number of students participate over the years. This is a remarkable opportunity for students interested in developing strong ties with healthcare leadership in the state of Maine. The sites that provide internships are deeply invested in helping students connect to healthcare careers in our state and each has provided remarkably rich opportunities within their organizations far beyond the work done for the internship.
For students interested in health careers (including policy, administration, research, clinical work) with a strong tie with the State of Maine and an interest in working/practicing here once they join the workforce, here's the opportunity information: Summer Health Internships - Daniel Hanley Center for Healthcare Leadership (2025 internships are not yet listed, but the 2024 list is still available and provides a good sense of the kinds of opportunities offered each year).
On January 6, 2025 all of the internship listings will be posted, with applications due February 23, 2025. There will be a virtual information session for students on the evening of January 13, 2025.
