The pathology rag “ The Pathologist “ has another paean to the autopsy. Same arguments as 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago.
What I get a real hoot out of is the claim of how wonderful they are at disclosing mis-diagnoses and missed diagnoses. Most of the clinicians I knew were scared to death of these potentialities. I could even discourage an autopsy by telling the physician considering one that a post is the first thing the attorneys will want. BINGO! No autopsy.
