which of the following most accurately describes which way electrons flow in an active mitochondrion?

A) glycolysis> krebs cycle->electron transport chain
B) krebs cycle->electron transport chain->oxygen

I thought it's B since glycolysis doesn't happen in mitoch. but answer is A. Any ideas?

Your right! Glycolysis happens outside of the mitochondria. But outside of the Mitochond. the glycolysis produces two NADH (after Glyceradehyde-3-Phosphate). Those two NADH are transported into the Mitochondria and loses a bit of energy. Therefore, only 2 ATPs are made with each of the two NADH in the Mitochonria. Maybe B is the Answer. (Very tricky)

Well, you need to remember the source of the electrons. In this case, the provider of electrons is glycolysis. NO source, no electron transport chain. That simple.
