this question confuses me.

One of the loveliest sounds in nature is bird
song. Such song is commonly associated with
A. hunger.
B. pugnacity.
C. territoriality.
D. orientation.

the answer is C. the definetion of territoriality doesn't say anything about bird sounds. territoriality is about defending a land. here is another info about it, Territories may be held by an individual, a mated pair, or a group. Territoriality is not a fixed property of a species: for example, robins defend territories as pairs during the breeding season and as individuals during the winter, while some nectarivores defend territories only during the mornings.

anyone have an explanation to the answer?

I would equate it to an animal marking its territory. Hearing the bird song is an indicator to birds that territory is taken. The others can be eliminated as well. There would be no sense to sing out of hunger and orientation. Pugnacity is when something is aggressive or ready to fight and I know birds dont sing because they are about to fight. I see it as their way to mark their territory.
