Larger islands may have greater species diversity than smaller islands because larger islands:

a. are in the tropics
b. are farther from continents than smaller islands are
c. have more habitats than smaller islands do
d. have greater genetic drift than smaller islands do
e. have no reproductive isolation among their populations

you can immediately eliminate a,b,e. i chose d but the answer is c. can anyone help?

Why are you using us to do your biology homework? The obvious answer is C because genetic drift has nothing to do with the size of the island and if anything decreases diversity. Also, think of an island like a mini continent. A continent has a lot of different habitats, right? Well the larger the island the more like an actual continent it is therefore the more ecological niches are available = more species diversity.
