Sorry guys, I have another book question.

For those who have taken Bio 1/2 in which classes the 8th edition of Biology Campbell was required, did any of you happen to use the 7th edition and still be ok in the class?

I am wondering how much of a difference is between the 7th and 8th edition.

As a general rule books that are 1-2 edition difference will not be appreciably different information-wise. The page numbers may be different but you can buddy up with one of the other kids that have the correct edition and work yourself through. Now if it's more than 2 editions different you might consider buying a new one as there could be outdated/changed information in those books.

Unless I'm mistaken, my Bio 1 prof said something along the lines of "if you happen to have the 7th ed from a high school class, don't bother upgrading."

As the others said, unless your professor is known to take specific questions from the practice questions, a single edition change is irrelevant. The only reason they even publish it is for the author and the publisher to make more money.

I actually did even open my bio book lol. So the edition doesn't matter. Just take good notes from lecture!
