k i have a problem with this, because i thought introns are transcribed just not translated. dont they get transcribed and then during RNA processing they get cut out, along with the addition of a 5' cap and a poly a tail
 
I think transcription may be considered everything until Translation and they don't get that far as you said, so not transcribed.
 
iwanth20 is right, introns are transcribed and not translated. Anything that is turned into mRNA is considered transcribed.
Unfortunately, destroyer is not error proof, but it's pretty close.
 
Ok in class we caught that mistake and Dr. Romano switched it to read "Introns are DNA bases which can be found between exons, but are not translated.
