Another lab in California joining Labcorp....

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Lot of rumors about Path Inc in Torrance about to become part of Labcorp. Wow, Cali is a acquisition hotbed. :boom:

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Al Lui's group? That group is by far the biggest one in all Cali...

Someone PLEASE overpay for my businesses. This is bugging the crap out of me.

New rule:
if you throw grenades onto the Path forum, please somewhat back them up. Like you heard this at the LA Path Society meeting last week blah blah.

Better sell now then!

The news of this deal should be announced fairly soon if the source is right and this source is RARELY wrong. Labcorp has wanted the AP part of that lab for a long time. Didnt they own the clinical side and share a location in Torrance for a while?

I was teased with an offer of a very substantial dollar amount by said Labcorp and they backed out at the last possible moment...Damn you Path Inc!

I will now have to sell to some other heartless soulless international Healthcare entity...

California is the best place to be to sell a lab thanks to protectionist policies. If you want in that market, you are pretty much forced to purchase a lab that is already a Medi-cal provider. Didn't Jerry Brown pass a law to prevent anymore more labs from being Medi-cal providers? I thought I read that somewhere. That's why Bioreference had to buy Hunter labs. If they had opened their own lab, they couldn't get patients with medi-cal.

You just need to sell to one of the labcorp, quest wannabes that aren't out there yet. Not sure who that would be but one will overpay.

Afterall the American dream is to start a lab, scare the competition and then sell to them. :claps:

God forbid someone actually takes the fight to these labs that have commoditized the work that we do. :beat:
