Hey guys,

I'm not applying til next year, but I kinda wanted to start collecting my LORs soon while profs still remembered me (and so I'm not rushing to get it done close to application time)... Is it possible to collect all the letters now (in sealed envelopes signed on the seal by the referee la la la) and hold on to them until I get the matching forms, then attach them to the outside of all the envelopes and then put all THOSE in one BIG package and mail them out together?

Also when you're filling out the application, what information do they request about each individual referee? Is it just name/address/email/phone kinda thing?

Thanks a lot, sorry if it's been asked before but I couldn't find anything 😀

to be honest, i wouldnt do that... I would keep in contact with the professors and let them know you are interested in dentistry.. once you decide to apply, ask them for a letter. Keeping them sealed up just sounds like trouble in the making. Not only may your letters be outdated but if you keep in good contact, they would be happy to do it ( just give them plenty of time)

I had to get 2 more letters but i kept in good contact (even going back to the school to see them) so they were happy to write them for me.

Alright sounds good, thanks 🙂

Closer to the time you're applying, I would schedule a meeting with the professor or invite him/her out to coffee. That way you can catch them up with what you've been doing since you took their class and refresh their memory of you. Also, if they've never written a dental school recommendation before and/or have no idea what dental school entails you can answer their questions face to face.
