I think you should sit down and calculate your current BCPM GPA, and then calculate the projected GPA according to your academic plan in the next couple of years. Make it your goal to try to get it close to or over 3.0. You may find that you have to take more sciences than the basic premed course requirement to bring it up.
If you do very well from now on (mostly A's) and get a decent MCAT, go ahead and apply to med schools as well as SMPs. Because SMPs really should be the last resort.
