Another Low GPAer Needs Advice

you'll definitely need to do a post-bacc to bring up your cgpa to even get into an smp, a dedicated science program like the one at upenn would be a good idea. a year of smp after that and you should be good to go. you can also try applying directly to smp programs in the meanwhile as well just to see if you get in. though the undergrad post-bacc certainly wouldn't hurt either.
 
I agree with chowchilla. Spread out your SMP applications if applying to a postbac. If you get into one of these coveted SMPs, you can probably forgo the postbac route all together.
 
I think you should sit down and calculate your current BCPM GPA, and then calculate the projected GPA according to your academic plan in the next couple of years. Make it your goal to try to get it close to or over 3.0. You may find that you have to take more sciences than the basic premed course requirement to bring it up.

If you do very well from now on (mostly A's) and get a decent MCAT, go ahead and apply to med schools as well as SMPs. Because SMPs really should be the last resort.
