Hey gang,
Just did a practice DAT this morning and am scoring a stable 17 in the PAT section. Will this improve any on the real thing usually? I took a topscore exam. My AA was a 17 too...which I'm pretty disappointed about...I'm sucking at bio. Figured I'd break out the old notes from bio 1 and 2 and just go crazy with flashcards. Hope it works. Good luck...I'm taking it next Monday morning.

I am taking the test then too. My Topscore PAT average around a 21/22 and my Ace the DAT average 17/18. The understood norm on SDN is that you will see a 2-3 point drop on Topscore and Ace the DAT is right on! So, I am concerned about my PAT. You can evaluate yourself from this info. On your academic average, the understood norm is that you will see a 2-4 point increase on your Topscore average. In conclusion, take a closer look at that PAT if the understood norms are correct. However, there are a few that say the real PAT is not much more difficult than Kaplan/Topscore except for the angles and a little harder holepunching. Therefore, I am hoping the truth is somewhere in the middle and I can get my 18 and move on! But, you never know which PAT you are going to see until it appears on the screen. Let us hope on our test day, the PAT god smiles upon us! 😀 Good luck and happy studying!!!

Thanks for the replies guys. Hopefully the understood norm proves to hold true come test day (bright and early monday morning). I've been doing bio all day, and will finish up with some gen chem tests...this week break from summer classes is quite nice. Docveda, as for your kap test, those scores in my opinion are great for no studying or work put forth. I found that test to be pretty hard, and it is kind of an unrealistic measure of your performance...could it be because Kaplan would like to scare you into taking their class? I dunno...I took their class anyways, and my scores are improving. Once you start studying, your scores will jump. Just stick to a schedule...and good luck man!

What is this "free online Kaplan" test I keep reading about? Is it something that anyone can take? And if so, where do you find it? Thanks and good luck to those taking it next week!

Do a google search for free kaplan practice DAT. For some reason, the one on their website doesn't link you right. The test is pretty tough though, but its good practice.
