How long does it take for you guys to finish 50 questions and then go over the answers in detail? Maybe its just me, but I can never get it done in less than 3hrs. And I usually finish the 50 questions in less than an hour. Am I doing something wrong, or is this about right? I don't really understand how people get through 3000+ questions, do all the reading etc., - all in 4 weeks time. I try to do about 8 hrs reading, and then I can only do about 50 questions a day. Really, am I doing something terribly wrong?

I have about 3 1/2 more weeks before my exam and I've gotten only about 200 questions done. I still have to get through the rest and got a lot of reading also. Any ideas on how I can speed things up? Should I not time myself and check answers as I go along? helpful hints, please...

By the way, my avg on my first 200 questions is 65%. Hope it goes up!

It usually takes me about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to take a 50 question block and go through the answers. It will take less and less time as you do more questions because the explanations are often repetitive.

If you got the question right and you know why you got it right then don't bother looking at the reasoning. If you don't know why you got it right or you got it wrong. Read the Q-bank explanation...if you still don't understand use 1 more resource...if you still don't understand...move on.

3 hours is definitely a long time to be going over the questions. If I get the question right and I'm very confident about my answer, I skim over the explanation. If I get it wrong but I am able to definitely eliminate some of the answer choices, I skim the explanations for the ones I eliminated and carefully read the others while annotating First Aid. If I have no clue about the question at all, I carefully read every answer choice answer and annotate First Aid. Reviewing 50 questions usually takes me about 30-45 minutes. It was slow at the beginning of studying because I didn't know anything, but now it's much more efficient.

Everybody keeps stressing the 4 week study time frame, but I don't know how they do it. I never would have gotten through all of Qbank in only 4 weeks if I was using it as a learning tool instead of just an evaluation tool.

I am glad I am not the only one taking 3 hours to review..... 🙂 I understand your pain. I am curious Jaded soul, how are you studying and when is your exam? How many weeks did you take?

You should try to put together exams to be taken under time constraints, specifically to build up testing skills, stamina, pace. But I think as a study tool Qbank is the most efficient by far.

I take hours to do 50 questions too. Seems like a lot of good info in Qbank, and effective because it's testable info... So I mull stuff over till I'm on top of it.

My exam is next week. I scheduled my studying over about 7 weeks because I know I couldn't stick to the 8 hour/day in 4 weeks schedule.

As to how I studied... I had a review book for most of the major subjects and used that as my primary source. I annotated the hell out of First Aid while I was using the review books and doing Qbank. For these last few days leading up the exam, I'm going through First Aid once more and continuing to do practice questions. It's not easy for me to just memorize stuff at all, even with all this prep time I still feel like there's a lot more I should know.

7 weeks?! That's awesome. When did you get out of classes? I am extremely jealous since I'll be taking the test next week, and I have only had a little over 3 weeks to read all of my review books and work through all the Qbank questions. Other than the time frame, your study strategy sounds very similar to mine.

Good luck on the test!

My school didn't teach us any new material after spring break, so I was able to get a head start even though we had tons of busy work after spring break. We stopped having class around the second week of May and had a comprehensive exam a couple of weeks later.

Good luck to all, too!

Thanks for replying, everyone! I'm glad that atleast some people are in the same boat as I am. 3 1/2 weeks to go! Goodluck guys!
