I want a Pulm/CC fellowship after residency and am having a difficult time deciding which SoCal program would be most appropriate.

UCSD
Harbor
UCLA/VA
Cedars
UCI
Scripps Green

The big question is Harbor v. UCLA/VA v. Cedars

Any constructive opinion would be much appreciated.

I don't know much about UCSD, Scripps, or UCI. Regarding Pulm/CCM, Cedars and UCLA/VA (along with UCLA-SFVP) share a very good fellowship. Cedars has great ICUs with excellent faculty, and you will do lots of ICU as an intern and resident (MICU, RICU, and CCU as an intern). Harbor also has an excellent unit experience and its own very good fellowship. I don't think you would go wrong with any of these programs, I would choose based on the type of program you would like to train in-- i.e. Harbor and Cedars are MUCH different settings, though both very good programs.

Good luck.
