Spring semester is coming up all too quickly, and have been wondering how feasible my schedule is. I really need that 4.0, or 3.8+ sooo here it is!

Cell Biology + Lab = 5 hours
Organic Chemistry 2 = 3 hours
Genetics Lab = 2 hours
Calculus 1 = 3 hours
History of Jazz = 3 hours
(POSSIBLY) The research that I am doing might go towards 3 credit hours, so potentially I could be looking at 19 hours!

- I have also started working in research lab this Fall, so now that I'm trained and competent, I will have more responsibility and independence, so I'm looking at 10 hours a week here.
- I am also going to work on campus as an Organic Chemistry, Biology, Genetics, and Accounting tutor. 9 hours a week.
- I volunteer 5-10 hours on the weekends at my local hospital

I also commute about an hour each way so I make the whole day of being at school
What are y'alls thoughts?

Mixing a very intensive science course (organic chem)with another science course and a math course. It would be easier to give advice if you took organic chem 1 already and wanted to see if orgo 2 was a good choice for the load. If you took orgo 1 and got an A-B range, I'd say go for it.

Its a difficult course for a lot of students and for good reason. Its a different learning curve than many other classes. College is marathon, not a sprint. I'd drop Jazz or calculus/cell bio. I would personally leave Cell Biology for the spring, I remember reading it helped a few students on here for the DAT(Didn't take the course nor did I have any extremely difficult questions). Or maybe take something more well rounded like anatomy/physiology.

Good luck, you're almost done.

Yea I managed an A in Ochem 1, and I plan on pre studying for Ochem 2 during my break. My problem is I switched majors so I'm already a semester behind and need to catch up, don't want to pay another years worth of tuition.
Thanks for the reply though!

You'll be fine then, I misread. Orgo 2 is a lot more manageable than orgo 1, even more fun!

Orgo 2 is my favorite between the two semesters by far. It was more enjoyable because there were tons of patterns in the reactions so it made the learning easier.

Not too bad, although, a little bit pricey since you will be paying for 19 semester hours * price per semester hour ($262 for my school) so yea... I do a few of research classes along with regular stuff (which is around 15 hours) for my degree and make them into zero credit courses so I don't have to pay for them haha... Also, out of my own curiosity... you're pre-medical, why are you asking pre-dental forum whether your coursework is doable? Whether it's doable or not, it should help you with your premed track.

Yea 19 hours is pricey here too haha, but I'm doing a concentration that'll eventually require a semester of research so might as well get credit for what I'm currently doing, at least that's the plan.
As for pre med, I'm an inbetweener, more close to dental but like the idea of being a surgeon haha, but yea I should get on that and change to pre dental, plus pre dental forum seems more accepting and tighter community really
