Clarifying: you have NOT submitted an application.

You have a strong list of activities, but I'm missing opportunities where you have had to stretch beyond your comfort zone when it came to helping others. You are probably fine with what you have, but it feels like it may limit you as being a "California" or "coastal" applicant who would rather to go those states for your education as opposed to the other schools that don't know of surfing culture.

Hawaii admits very few non residents with no connection to the state. Only apply to UCR if you are from that region. You could add these schools:
USF Morsani
Duke
Ohio State
Cincinnati
Western Michigan
U Michigan
Tufts
Rochester

Awesome. Thank you for the advice!

Have not submitted it. I plan on applying next cycle. Should I limit my schools to strictly coastal schools? Besides a few schools, I did limit my school list to where I would be able to surf occasionally. At this point, surfing is a hobby that I love. I understand that in medical school I will most likely be far too busy to surf often.
Mmm...you're basically pack fodder for schools like Harvard, Yale, or Stanford. Nothing special there - that'd take something like military service, Peace Corps, lots of research productivity, or being an exceptional athlete. That being said, there isn't any school in the country that you're not competitive for, stats-wise. If you want to build up your application...I'd recommend volunteering with the developmentally disabled (maybe in something other than surfing!) or the elderly. If you're really looking for something that's an intense experience - something that is extremely difficult to put into words - spend a few hundred hours volunteering on a pediatric heme/onc ward. It will give you a different perspective on medicine.

Good luck; there's no real deficiencies that I can see in your application. You're the Surf Person; you've got a lot of genuinely good surfing-related activities and surfing-related community service.

Awesome thank you for the feedback! I'll definitely look into more volunteering opportunities! I'm finally getting a paper published (woo!) and hope to have several more before I apply. As long as I get in somewhere that I can occasionally surf I'm stoked! Yew!

If surfing is that big a deal to you, then there's nothing wrong with playing up the whole surfing premed angle. Don't apply to any medical school where you wouldn't go to if it was your only acceptance. Good luck with everything.

Well that explains the "coastal" vibe. Like you really just want to go to UCSD for Med School.

Get rid of schools that aren't anywhere close to fulfilling you. (Long Island doesn't really have great surfing as far as I know.) Do some serious networking around the California schools near you including DO schools. Why are you spending so much on applications to schools where you won't be happy?

Yeah UCI and UCSD are for sure my top two choices. 90% of the schools I have are schools where I could at least go to the coast to surf every once in a while. I realize that its so competitive to get in that I cant really bank on getting into a school in Southern California. As for schools like Iowa that seem odd, I'm applying to places where I would have a strong family support. I think I'll try to cut my school list down.
