Anyone have a good way to remember what arrhythmias each class of antiarrhythmics is used for? I can't seem to organize it in my little noodle...

Thanks 🙂

20 hours to go!

I wouldnt worry about remembering what each one is used for. I would remember:

1a for atrial arrythmias
1b LiMiTs the QT: Lidocaine, Myxelitine, Tocainamide all shorten the QT interval (the only group that does)
1c are hardly used because they are often aryythmogenic
Amiodarone is class III, but has properties of all classes
Sotalol is class III with some class II activity
Never use a class II or class IV in someone with WPW

Aside from that, there are of course other things to know, but if you know thet specific channels blocked by each class and major drugs in that class, you should be good for all anti-arrythmic questions. I had exactly zero on my test.

I had exactly two, one where you had to know which one should be used 🙂 (I think it was Lidocaine hoping I was right 😉). First Aid was sufficient for one, no way in hell could you know the other one without reading Lilly or some other detailed source.
