This is a really random question-- but I suppose, who better to ask than pharmacicts and pharm students?

I got a prescription for Clindamysin the other day and I ended up just skimming the papers that it came with. It said that one is not supposed to lie down 30 minutes after taking a dose... I thought, perhaps it might lower blood pressure... but the problem would then be standing up... I'm not going to pretend to have an idea 😉 I did try searching around online... with little luck... meh

Anyone have an idea why this warning is there? It wasn't written on the bottle itself so it's not so significant as the "swallow with a full glass of water" on the label... but I was just curious if anyone knew.

I'm no pharmacist but I bet this is a similar situation to Doxycycline. It can cause indigestion and upset stomach which can lead to vomiting if you lay down too soon after taking it.

Interesting... that would make sence I guess.

Just to get in the clear (this got closed on another part of SDN)... this is not a question for medical advice-- simply I'm curious what the warning is about...

Since it was a prescription for yourself or someone you actually picked it up for....you are asking for advice & it should be closed here.

Calll up the pharmacist who dispensed it to you to ask why....you could have a conversation with him/her which would be the better route.
