Just finished my 2nd case using these over swiftlocks. I think they make a huge difference in lead security, allow a smaller incision, and a faster implant. I can't go back to silk. I'm spoiled.

Also have you looked at their Xclose plus for skin closure? I am testing it out right now.

My orthospine friend used Xclose for annular repair after micro for a while, hospital balked at the added price so he stopped. I imagine that fiXate is also pretty expensive, I'm sure I'd get a friendly visit from the adminstrator too.

I use a 0 silk suture with a small RB1 needle. I meticulously expose a quarter sized area of lumbodorsal fascia and use two figure-of-eight knots for each anchor, I use SJM swift-lock. Anchoring takes me about 10-15 minutes, definitely the most tedious part of the case.

1 pack of 2 Fixates. Epiducer and sheath out, swift-lok pushed as far as it will go with Adsons, Kelly locks it on the lead x2) 1 min. Fixate x2 with one stitch each. 30 sec total.

90 seconds for all anchoring, and way more secure than my prior 3 individual 2-0 silks per lead. This thing is the shst. I hope admin doesn't yell at me due to added cost. I love it.
